Of course, selecting any top ten of any category is never easy. But when it comes to having a top ten list for your BlackBerry, it’s a must read. If you have a BlackBerry read on, if not, still read to find if these applications are available for your phone. Loser!
At any rate, choosing the top ten FREE blackberry applications was a difficult task.
There are two rules that must be accomplished.
1. The application must be user-friendly and have a decent interface.
2. It must be totally free of charge. Meaning $0 dollars, no demo and no trial crap.
Consider those two categories and think about your daily use of your BlackBerry. What applications do you use daily? Reply in your comments to this post.
Also, Please remember that tadbit.com is mobile friendly as well. You can go to tadbit.com from your BlackBerry device and simply browse our articles from there.
And here goes the list: Keep in mind that this list is in no particular order.
1) Piconews - Get! - A user-friendly and simple software giving you the opportunity to receive news items from all over the world on your Blackberry at any time in any place. The content which you are interested in is now available to roaming users like you! Coming soon for Windows, Palm and Symbian OS.
2) Viigo - Get! - Lets you discover and access the best of the Internet’s content and services in an intuitive, fast, made-for-mobile format so compelling, you’ll wonder how you ever got along without it. Includes the following: Channel Library, Package Tracking (UPS, USPS, FedEx, and DHL), Entertainment, Sports Updates, Share the News, Import Custom Feeds, Weather, Keyword Alerts, Web Readers (Y! and Google).
3) Google Maps - Get! | Direct Link! - Great piece of application that you must have with you. Determine your current location with OR without GPS. Get driving and transit directions. Get phone numbers and addresses for local businesses.
4) Gmail - Get! | Direct Link! - This is the handiest little application ever. Having the best (in my opinion) email solution provided by Google, isn’t complete without the Gmail for mobile app. I love this thing! Gets me caught up on emails.
5) Opera Mini 4.1 - Direct Link! (Visit on desktop or straight from BlackBerry Browser)- This is the most popular mobile phone browser in the world. And it works flawlessly on my BlackBerry.
6) Yahoo! Go 3.0 - Get! | Direct Link! - This is a great restroom companion. You can add all kinds of mobile widgets. Such as MTV news, MySpace, and eBay. Just a handy must have for the broom. ;)
7) Live Search for BlackBerry - Get! | Direct Link! - This is my second favorite application. It gets me, almost instantly, maps, directions, movie show times, movie ratings, lowest gas prices in the area, restaurant information (with ratings), and of course local business listings. Once you find the business you just press your trackball on the number and it dials automatically. Brilliant!
8) Google Sync - Get! | Direct Link! - Synchronizing your BlackBerry’s built-in calendar with your online Google Calendar cannot get any better then this. This is an automated little application you can get to sync your calendars both ways. Add an appointment on your BB, it will be synced on time selected in option to your Google Calendar, vice versa. Great app!
9) Ramble IM - Get! (Direct also) - Allows users to access AOL Instant Messenger. It’s great if your wireless provider does not already provide you with one. I know that Verizon does and its called Mobile IM (very generic). But does the charm and its free.
10) TwitterBerry - Get! | Direct Link! - Can’t live with Twitter? You must/need this. Application for posting updates to Twitter. It works over the data network, so you don’t have to send or use up your SMS.

Yeah Google Sync is awesome. The reason behind why I didn’t include Beyond 411 is because its ugly and the functions are already covered into Live Search by Microsoft and Google Maps by Google.
And Spell n Dial, is also a great app. Along with TV-Guide, how about the people with DirecTV?
Two great apps, will be listed later on after I receive more comments and suggestions. Probably under this same post by under the headline “The Forgotten List.”
Anyways, nice suggestions. And thank you for your comment.

Well you could also try http://mippin.com on your blackberry browser too - Mippin is an advanced mobile news, web and aggregation service with the kind of widgets you’d expect from a cool new mobile service, and a ton of features that you wouldn’t, such as discovering content through other users, customisation tools, and the ability to even publish the tadbit blog to Mippin through its PC blog publishing site http://www.mippin.com/mobilizer
Definitely worth a look, on your blackberry of course!
