Desperation is what you can sense from Starbucks inc. Maybe that is what prompted them to offer free AT&T WiFi in most of their stores.
The trick behind Starbucks “free” WiFi, is that it actually costs $5 a month, plus it is only available for 2 hours a day. To receive these privileges you must first go online and purchase a minimum $5 card. You also are required to use your card at least once a month, for 2 consecutive hours. To really make the WiFi “free”, Starbucks will give out free drink vouchers to new members. I guess that means the drink is of equal value to the WiFi card.
All I see in this dark haze is a company failing, and some really good corporate lying. But, all in all I must admit that I would even try this WiFi plan. Even though I would just be in it for the promotions.
